First edition in contemporary binding. The Swiss reformer Heinrich Bullinger (1504-1575) was one of the most important theologians of the Protestant movement in Switzerland.” He organized and led the Zurich Church with superior wisdom until his death and respected the right of pastors to examine political questions from the Gospel to the Council. Numerous Protestant refugees were accepted in Zurich under Mr Bullinger, and he was in frequent correspondence with the Protestants in England, France, Italy, Hungary, Poland and the Netherlands (NDB III, 12).
