Numerous woodcuts, including full page. Few marginal repaired tears at title (reinforced), to leaves ff3-ff4 and to the hors texte table at rear, light water stains.

First and only edition of this renown theoretical and practical treatise on perspective, published posthumously and presented as a treaty on painting to Firenze Academy’s students. Th Author, military engineer and mathematical at the De’ Medici’s service, presents practical applications of perspective to the fields of optics, gnomonic and military architecture. The work contains the first printed edition of Leonardo’s treaty on drawing.
